All for the sake of supporting and doing good work so that i won't go to hell in my afterlife. My friend, Rowena called me on wednesday night asking me whether i am interested in attending the FESPIC Games??? What on earth is that??? I know there is our own Malaysian SUKMA Games, SEA Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and Olympic Games, but what is FESPIC ??? Sounds alien to me ... i agreed to go with her as to see what is it all about.
From the official website of FESPIC KL '06 it is stated that " The FESPIC Games is the biggest multi-sports & multi-disability event for athletes with disabilities in Asia and Oceania, and the second largest Games in the world, after the Paralympic Games. The FESPIC Federation have been organising the Games every four years, since the inaugural Games in Oita, in 1975 which saw 973 athletes from 18 countries. The last FESPIC Games was help in Busan, Korea in 2002 which saw 3,800 athletes and officials from 43 member nations taking part in 17 sports. "
Spot Me
Wow, i didn't know about that. Gosh! Like a frog under a well. Have to be more aware of the things hapening around me. The lack of promotion by the media might be another factor causing me not to know about it (pointing fingers now).
The event i attended was a pre-launching of the game. We had to "run" with the torch for 2km or so. Throughout the walk, people were trying to stand near the torch and to steal the limelight from the disabled athletes. How sad is it. I was so embarrassed as some of them even asked me to stand in front so that the photographers may catch me. What is this all about? Isn't it about supporting and encouraging the athletes? I just don't understand the meaning of it. Rowena likewise felt embarrassed too. We felt like we were being used and we were also using them as a prop to get ourselves onto the papers or tv. And my friend would consider this as, "mencapub" - mencari-publisiti.
Let's not talk about this, it is very misleading and inhumane.
A picture with the doctor.
Besides this, i also had a project on hand this week. I was the organising chairperson and i had to help the Otorinolaringologi Clinic at the Serdang Hospital to set up a small reading corner for the kids and another for the adults. It was done so that the patients won't feel boring while waiting for their turns. Although it wasn't anything big, but it is all from the inner heart. We care.
Notice the background it is also a project by our club.
Having fun.
We brought children books and also magazines for light reading. We can see that the patients were so eager to read the books and magazines, as they were eyeing us when we were setting the shelves. This is what we get from doing all these. We feel the joy when people are happy. It is worthless.
Posers.
After the project, we went for "Happy Feet" and proceeded on our next upcoming project that would be held in December. We are throwing a X'mas party! So, we went all over around our area to look for the best spot to have it. We are going to sponsor part of the event and people who are interested in coming wouldn't have to pay for the actual amount. This one that we are doing is just a small party, and anyone can participate. The complete information and details will only be confirmed by next week. So if any of you who are reading this is interested, please let me know. FYI, it won't be on X'mas Eve or X'mas day, but it would be somewhat earlier, so that you can go for more parties. The main objective is just to have a fellowship.
We would be going to an orphanage tomorrow too, but then i don't think that i would be able to tag along, as me and some of my friends are going to malacca next weekend and still i have revision to do for my test that is around the corner. So, revise this week party the next!
I bought a DVD a few weeks ago titled "L'aubergne Espagnole" (The Spanish Appartment). It was about this french student who applied for a student exchange programme. In Spain, he had to share an appartment with people from all over the world. There was a British, a German, an Italian, a Portuguese, a Swedish and a Spanish. They had to speak English to communicate as no one understood each others language. It is funny to see that people may misunderstand each other. One example in the movie was when this British girl had to answer a call. The call was from the French guy's mother. She asked the British, " Il est a le faq (as it sounded like fuck)?". She was so dumbfolded when she heard that. Faq? Why faq? What faq? The question was actually "Is he at the faculty?"
This movie reminded me of the time in Italy, when i had to spend a week in a summer camp with people of different nationalites. We learned and shared with each other and had a marvellous time there. It made me miss them so much. That is why, i thought of posting up this blog for the sake of the sweet memories we once spent together.
The Friends
The Drunk"skie" - Guy Kalei (Canada)
She is one of the best buddy in camp whom i got along well with. Funny, friendly, out-going and straight forward. She is always telling jokes that can make people laugh their heads off. One good laugher too, but can be emotional at times. She is always drunk, and would go "Drunkskie" everytime she gets tipsy.
The Country Singer - Amanda Wilson (America)
This girl can sing!!! She could definitely be the next American Idol. Sings like an angel. She can make all the people in the restaurant stop whatever they are doing and listen to her. She is another one whom i can click with. She can give you all the warm and friendly hugs when you need'em. My American sister, but so far till now i haven't send any mails to her yet.
The Belly Dancer - Ece Gizen (Turkey)
Conservative compared to the others but more open-minded than Malaysian muslims. A nice friend to be around with, can be a good listener and a good talker too. You can talk anything with her. Very caring and is always aware of the things that are happening around. She can make people fall for her charm. She can be a good dancer too.
The Austrian "James Bond" - Sebastien Eckl (Austria)
Crazy fella. Locked us up in the hotel room which made a friend of mine wanted to jump out of the window to look for help. Can be wild at times and gentle at others. I guessed it is mostly influenced by his English granny. He is always forcing people to drink and is the one who come up with stupid drinking games. Can't stop moving - hyperactive. Called him Bond as he looks and sounds like one(sometimes).
The Party Girl - Sabina Grasbeck (Finland)
This girl can party but not so much of a drinker. She can laugh at all the jokes and is a great speaker too. Very sexy and guys would fall for her easily. Very tempting. There was an Italian guy who drove all the way from another town to stalk her. Most of the guys would die to be with her.
The Latin Lover - Jose Leonidas (Honduras)
Very sexy, romantic. Speaks only Spanish and a little English. Send signals via eye contact. Hate people who smokes. Very out-going and funny at times. He was the one who nearly jumped off the window. Unfortunately, didn't really get to know him much as we were having the language barrier.
The Sweet Friend - Jenni Seitala (Finland)
Not much of a talker. Not wild, very motherly and kind. Would help you whenever she can. Not a smoker nor a drinker. Calm at all times. Enjoy times by herself.
The Danish Blonde - Sanne Graversen (Denmark)
She has a very deep and sexy voice. She was surprised when i told her abouth the facts of her country. She didn't expect an Asian to know so much about it and was embarassed for knowing nothing about mine. Friendly but don't enjoy talking that much. Prefer listening.
The Norweigian Teacher - Lena Gabrielsen (Norway)
Very wise. Can talk and discuss anything you come up with. Have strong opinions on her stand. Can speak perfectly well English. Corrects anyone when they make mistakes when using English. Mature compared to the rest of the friends.
Dutch "Arnold Schwarzenager" - Maarten Stadler (Netherlands)
The first friend i met when i arrived at the airport. Was my room mate for the week. Friendly, kind, funny. Don't be fooled by his size. He can be a gentle giant. We shared a lot during the period. One of my best buddy. Swapped flies using our slippers and t-shirts. Chain-smoker, can't resist. Burnt the bed-sheet while smoking on the bed.
I still can't forget the times we spent together in Italy. Really feel like meeting up with them one day, but i wonder when will that be?
Will post more of the pictures we took in Italy soon.
How do you name your -ex ???
3 Comments Published by Orange on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 3:28 PM.This new breed of Bond is somewhat different from the previous ones, not to mention some - Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan etc. The current Mr Last Name-First Name-Last Name is no longer a Casanova, but we wouldn't know whether he will turn out to be one in the next. Say bye bye to over the top gadgets, elegant and unrealistic lifestyles and the no bruises and cuts Bond, the dreams of those who want to be a hero can now be fulfilled. James Bond is just like any of us, but he is a little tough and rough at the edge, not to mention smart too. He make mistakes and learn from it. So he is not as perfect as we have once pictured him before. This change of approach is to woo young audiences who thinks that unachievable missions are just full of craps and imaginations!!! Let us hope that Craig Daniel would bring back the almost dead Bond to life again. But what i dislike the most in the movie is when Mr Double-O Seven got his balls whipped by the big bad villian Le Chiffre. Imagine the pain inflicted on him. Ouch!!!
As i was reading up my Chemistry text book that evening, i came across pictures of chemicals in Pyrex beakers. Snap! My cheeky-mind came up with something straightaway.
I asked my sister, "What do you call Pyrex's dad?" She was too innocent to give me my answer , so, i told her "Durex" ... and she chuckled. She then asked me about the mom. I had a hard time figuring out when my mom walked by and answered " Kotex" - sweats .... All of a sudden, the whole house blasted into smoke of laughter ... we were laughing our heads off and who would have guessed that my mom could be that creative.
Been quite busy lately, from assignments to tests ... some done, but more to come ... so hardwork finally paid off as my test results were reasonably acceptable. Yet still much more effort has to be put.
Yes, finally the tv commercial i did last month is coming out tomorrow at Ntv7. It will be aired only on weekends at evenings. So it might be at 5.30 - 6.30pm or 9.30-10.30pm. Just can't wait to see myself!!!
There is so much to share but it seem like i can't write everything here. Watched lots of movies lately as there is no conenction at my place. But the movie that i am most looking forward to watch this week is Casino Royale. I heard that it is great. Next, Happy Feet !!! Gosh, so many movies that i want to watch ...
Study hard, play hard ... but am i missing something ??? Someone in life??? Do i need one now ??? It is necessary ??? Can i handle ??? Need some help here ... maybe you can let me know what are the things that i need to do, prepare or expect ... the mistakes and lesson that you have came across in your relationship ... just find it curious ... as i have dreams about having this special one lately ... OMG ... "fat hao" again ...
